Read below about Flying Lizards by Manny.
Flying Lizards are also known as Flying dragons. These lizards are lizards of the draco genus. Flying Lizards can fly from the air of south and southeast asia. They accomplish this because of the membrane that extends from their ribcage to their air pockets. They then flatten their hind limbs and use a small set of neck flaps to serve as sort of rotor, stabilizing during their flight. It is an ability to glide, not to fly. Flying Lizards dewlap flap that can also be extended. Flying Lizards can grow up to 12 inches. Females are usually bigger than males, but their dewlaps are smaller. The origin of natural range for flying lizard is the indo-pacific.  Their thrive in tropical and subtropical regions of the world and are native to the southwest tropical forest of Asia and India.

New Year

With the start of a new year, our class is working on new things.  We are on our way towards publishing our novels.  This will allow anyone to download and read them on their own devices.  The kids are very excited about this.  We will have our first literature circle meeting tomorrow and I can't wait to hear all that the students will bring to the meeting.  Looking forward to what the rest of the year entails!

Sky Ranch

We are back from Sky Ranch and had a great time.  It is crazy trying to plan for everything, but it is worth it in the end.  The kids learned a lot and have wonderful memories.  Van, TX is a beautiful place and so peaceful!
