Polar Bears

Did you know polar bears can stand on the there hind legs fully like a person can. Also they can smell a mile away while on an iceberg, to what there dinner might be.
A polar bear, Ursus maritimus, or sea bear, could be evolved into brown bear ancestors about, around------200,000 years ago.

Polar bears range around the artic where they hunt seals through opening called leads. 5 nations have the polar bear population- the United States {Alaska}, Canada, Russia, Greenland, and Norway. These bears are the world’s largest non-aquatic predators.

Polar bears communicate by sight, touch, and smell. They sometimes even gently touch each other around the face and neck.

Their food choices are seals.
Interesting Facts:
A female polar bear can start having babies at the age of four or five. The female usually has up to 2 babies but 3 babies are rare. When the cubs are born there are smaller than a human baby when it is born.

The height of both female and male {pounds also}
Female- 7 feet and 650 pounds
Male- 10 feet and 1400 pounds
